Dear Students & Friends of the Alliance Française of Port Elizabeth,

Re-opening of the Alliance Française of Port Elizabeth

The Alliance Française of Port Elizabeth, as well as many other organisations in South Africa, and in the world, was hit by the crisis Covid-19. Thanks to the solidarity and loyalty of its students, the involvement and professionalism of its teachers and staff, the Alliance Française of PE can offer all its courses 100% online. I warmly thank all our students who are still with us, who continue attend the courses, and enable us to remain the best French teaching organisation in Eastern Cape.

Thanks to the Apolearn and Zoom platforms, our teachers are able to offer you the best online learning experience. Today, the crisis is not over. The lockdown continue with the Level 3 restrictions.

Although our 100% online offer will continue for Term 3, we will now prepare for a reopening of our premises soon, hopefully during this month of June. But of course, if the situation changes, we will keep you informed as soon as possible.

Of course, we will be taking all the precautionary measures that we will be detailing shortly in order to reopen our Alliance under the best and safest conditions for everyone. We will set up a new health and safety standard as per Covid-19 pandemic recommendations before we reopen.

Our 3rd Term starts on the 6th of July. We will be offering Xhosa and French classes for all levels at the Alliance in our premises, but obviously we will keep our proposal 100% online for those who do not want to come back to our premises and prefer to continue online.

We will soon be able to organize the TEF examinations at our premises, but the DELF / DALF examinations should only start again on end of July. We will keep you informed as the situation changes.

Thank you again for your continued support. We encourage you to continue learning French with us! Merci beaucoup de votre soutien!!
Safe Regards

Claude Poggioli
